CASPER, Wyo. — Casper police say three people have been transported for injuries after two apparently unrelated calls involving gunshots Sunday night.
A traumatic injury call on the 1900 block of South Missouri Avenue was reported through the Public Safety Communications Center at 6:50 p.m., the Casper Police Department said in the initial release of information around 8:40 p.m. Multiple callers also reported hearing gunshots in the area.
Officers arrived to find two people with apparent gunshot wounds. Both were transported to Banner Wyoming Medical Center for treatment.
“While officers were responding to the South Missouri incident, an unrelated call came in reporting a shooting in the 100 block of South Washington Street,” the release said.
One person from that scene was also taken to the hospital.
“Both incidents are currently under active investigation. The Casper Police Department asks the public to avoid these areas while the investigations continue,” the release says.
East First Street is currently closed between Jefferson and Conwell streets, according to CPD Cpt. Jeremy Tremel.
“We will share more information as it becomes available,” police said.
