CASPER, Wyo. — A Casper man was sentenced to two and a half to five years in prison on Tuesday for a third-in-10-years domestic battery conviction.
Corey Peter Coriddi, 36, told Judge Kerri Johnson he didn’t have any way to justify the conduct. “It was wrong. I let the alcohol take over,†he said.
His public defender, Kurt Infanger, said he’d spoken at length with Coriddi and knew him to be remorseful, though his client didn’t remember much of the Sept. 20, 2024, incident.
Casper police were called to a residence in North Casper after a 15-year-old called 911 to say that Coriddi had hit his mother. Coriddi had an active warrant at the time, and police eventually broke down the bathroom door to arrest him, according to the affidavit filed in the Seventh Judicial District.
The witness told police that Coriddi had struck the woman in the head with a closed fist, causing her to fall to the ground and curl up in a ball. CPD officer Michael Quirin said in the report that he saw and felt a lump on the back of the woman’s head.
Prosecutor Jeff Meyer noted that at the time of the offense, Coriddi had already been convicted of a third-in-10-years domestic battery offense, a felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison. Coriddi had convictions for domestic battery dating back to 2015, according to the report.
Coriddi will get credit for 235 days served.
