Making sure you have the proper motorcycle insurance is an annual task that you should take to ensure you have the proper coverage. Check your policy and place your current insurance identification card on the bike to be street legal.

If you have added additional equipment and accessories, check to make sure these additional after-market items are included for coverage. Take photos of both sides of the bike everytime you change or add to it. This will make it easier for you and the company adjuster at loss time on determining the value of your bike.

Make sure you have the proper health and accident insurance for you and your family. If not, add medical payments coverage to your motorcycle policy.

Don't forget that your spouse and children are First party in law to you and can not legally sue you for their injury. You have to provide separate health insurance for them.

Anyone else is Third party and they have the capacity to sue for their injuries while a passenger on your bike. Be sure not to get confused with those two divisions of coverage and include Guest Passenger Liability coverage on your policy if you carry a third party passenger.
