CASPER, Wyo. — On Saturday, local firefighters battled strong winds and several acres of fire that broke out near Yesness Pond.
Casper Fire-EMS firefighters were dispatched at around 4:30 p.m. following reports of a wildland fire in the area. When they arrived on the scene, they were greeted by approximately 5 acres of wildfire.
Firefighters got to work quickly, as strong gusting winds elevated risks. Ultimately, the emergency responders were able to quell the fire before any buildings or other structures were damaged.
The cause of the fire remains undetermined and under investigation.
