Dear Casper,

Once again, the one-mindedness of Mr. Chuck Gray — in cahoots with the Freedom Caucus in the state legislature — concerning the rights and privileges of Wyoming voters to constitutionally submit their voice to election cycles is under attack. This time in his ongoing tirade against drop box balloting.

Now he and his friends in the so-called Freedom Caucus resort to cherry picking over the language of state statutes to justify silencing voters voices. Just because the statute doesn’t specifically allow drop boxes for ballot collection doesn’t mean they can’t be used.

The intent of the law is that Wyoming citizens can cast their votes in a safe and secure manner. A practice that has a long and verifiably safe usage in Wyoming for decades is that of drop boxes.

Kudos to the county clerks who spoke up to defend the constitution of our state and the means used to cast our ballots. The county clerks and their staff work hard and long to uphold the voice of all Wyoming citizens, allowing them to be heard. For that, I am grateful as they are a counter to the people in Wyoming’s government who only parrot the misinformation and will of the Ultraconservative movement in the National Republican Committee.

Dear Casper,

Fifteen-year-old pleads guilty to shooting, the anger and rage is deafening.

I live on Sun Drive and never heard it put as “Sun Drive Gang” but somehow understand.

For years, Casper Police Department continues to respond to disturbances at an apartment by various tenants. When does the property owner become responsible to the others or is Sun(down) Drive now the neighborhood you just don’t walk alone in or stay away from?

Dear Casper,

Today we live in a disappointing future. While some with wealth kick their feet up and lose empathy for others, millions of Americans struggle everyday to get by. These hardworking Americans include non-violent immigrants. But because of a fascist agenda, President Donald Trump has been able to put our country five steps back.

There is no reason any American should be scared to go to the store because of Nazi-like figures such as ICE.

The community and the democratic nation of America need to make a significant change now. If we allow ourselves to be like Germany in the 1940s, we will have destroyed everything good America stood for.

For your Wyomingites and for your fellow Americans, please have some empathy and stand up to make a difference.
